Return to the tough and pure for Eastman and Laird’s amphibians: the action RPG The Last Ronin will recreate the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic
Unless you’ve seen the celebratory feature film Forever or used Leonardo and Michelangelo’s alternate costumes in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, you might not know that actually Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was born as a comic for adults: the action RPG reminds us of it The Last Ronin, fresh from the announcement. The creative partnership of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, in his time, aimed at mocking the gritty turn of comics in the 80s. Back to the present day, the vice president of Paramount’s games division, Doug Rosenrevealed that a single-player title along the lines of God of War awaits us.

According to the representative of Paramount, currently holder of the rights of the franchise: in The Last Ronin we will see only one of the four protagonists of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Let’s talk about a sole survivor to a massacre perpetrated by the Foot Clan (whose leader Shredder, ironically, died in the first issue of the comic). While it’s possible that the other members are playable within flashbacks or similar, the only turtle left is the playable character in charge of wield the weapons of the other three as well. As well as the graphic novel of the same name by the publisher IDW from which the game was taken, it too tries to distance itself from the various adaptations seen over the years (1987, 2003 and 2012 in particular). This story is aimed at a larger audience, but so far nothing more is known about it. While not revealing the development team and the platforms involved, Rosen said that the company has found “the right partner” to take care of the transposition. Naturally, the announcement is very premature compared to the actual day one, so we will have to wait a few more years before knowing about the inevitable exclusivity of the new consoles in their first year of life.
