Following an agreement between Cooler e Micro Mobility Systems, the former becomes the exclusive distributor of Microlino in Italy. Microlino is a L7e category quadricycle, produced by Micro Mobility Systems, a company born in Zurich in 1997 that operates in the urban mobility sector.
“We realized that, with only 1.2 people on board on average, a distance of about 35 km, and an average speed of 30 km/h, modern cars are oversized for real use,” said the co-founder Merlin Ouboter. The style of Microlino is inspired by the bubble cars of the 50s and above all by the unforgettable Isetta, a forerunner of the concept of mobility, fruit of Italian ingenuity. “We wanted to make the Microlino not only practical, but also nice and fun to drive, so that you can’t help but smile when you use it”, says the co-founder Oliver Ouboter.
Microlino arrives in Italy in two versions
Koelliker will distribute Microlino in Italy in two versions: Dolce e Competition. The vehicle is electric and can reach a maximum speed of 90km/h. It is equipped with three types of batteries, of the Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese type, which allow a range of 91, 177 or 230 km.
Moreover, the microcar is entirely made in Italy, being worked at the headquarters of La Loggia (Turin). The entire production process is carried out within the Piedmontese plant: from the pressing of the sheet metal and the sheeting of the body, entirely robotic and created by the partner Cecomp, to the painting and final assembly, with 90% and more than 65% European components in Italy.
“Micromobility is a strategic area in which we strongly wanted to enter, but on condition that it was in the best possible way, alongside the most talented and also courageous company in the sector” he declared Marco Saltalamacchia, Executive Vice President & CEO of the Koelliker Group. “With Microlino we have not only found the best, iconic, stylish and recognizable product, but also an ideal partner, with an important history, awareness and a clear objective: to focus on sustainable micro-mobility to give new life to the centers of large cities. This ideal fits perfectly with the Koelliker Group, which is increasingly establishing itself as a real hub for sustainable mobility solutions. I am proud to work alongside Micro, to combine our know-how for a shared purpose and dream: to make Microlino the ideal vehicle for urban mobility”.
