Zack Snyder turns away from superheroes and zombies for a while, to focus on a film dedicated to the legend of King Arthur
In recent months there has been a lot of talk about Zack Snyder, especially with regard to Zack Snyder’s Justice League (also renamed Snyder Cut). But that’s not all: the zombie film will arrive on Netflix in just a few days Army of the Dead. In short, between reinterpretations and new releases, there is always time to think about another project.
There had already been talk for a while about a change of direction in the director’s next projects; in fact, he would like to bring back on stage his version of the legend of King Arthur. The director then abandons cinecomics (and zombies) to dive into the dark ages and talk about knights.
Zack Snyder: some details on the new project dedicated to King Arthur
Zack Snyder he had already confirmed that he was working on a film about King Arthur, calling it a faithful narrative of the Arthurian mythological concept.
I’m working on something, but we’ll see. I was thinking of some retelling, a new and more faithful adaptation of the Arthurian mythological concept. But we’ll see. Maybe his time will come.
In the course of the podcast The Fourth Wall di The Playlist, the director shared other details about the film in particular the setting: the story will take place during the gold rush.
Right now I’m writing a sort of, practically a kind of reinterpretation of Excalibur, of the Arthurian legend that is set in a different place. It’s kind of like the gold rush era in America, a bit of a weird Arthurian.
But still, it’s cool, and I like it a lot. And it’s funny, and it’s like, you know, it’s kind of crazy.
A project that is still a process of becoming, with nothing certain but a lot of material to work on. It is still very difficult to imagine a release date, not even knowing what the actual title could be and the cast selected to give life again to the famous character of King Arthur.
And you, what do you expect from this new interesting project by Zack Snyder?
