On the stage of the Xbox Showcase last night the absolute protagonist was Atlus, who presented three titles during the event. If Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica are titles that we could have expected, the first because it has already been leaked in recent days, the second because… well it’s Persona 5, we finally know something more about the company’s new IP as well. Previously known as Project Re Fantasy, Metaphor: ReFantazio was officially unveiled yesterday evening which, leaving out the funny name, seems to have all the credentials to show the classic quality of the Atlus house.
Project Re Fantasy becomes Metaphor Re: Fantazio and shows itself with a trailer!
Developed by the creators of Persona 5, Metaphor: ReFantazio marks Atlus’ entry into the real Fantasy RPG world, with contributions from director Katsura Hashino, character designer Shigenori Soejima and composer Shoji meguro. The synopsis reads:
Write your own destiny and overcome fear as you explore a fantasy world unlike any other. Shrouded in an eerie mystery, the kingdom is on the verge of ruin. Now you must embark on a journey, overcome obstacles and form bonds with friends.
Developed by Studio Zero, we were able to test a little bit through the trailer shown last night, which you can find in the body of the text of this article. We already know the classic formula of Atlus video games in depth, but we also know how much the company has been able to reinvent itself and bring new features over time. We’ll see what they come up with this time. The game will be available via Xbox Game Pass from launch.
