And it just seems, even if the reasons have obviously not yet been made official by Disney itself, that Crater met the same fate for the same reasons. The reason for the cancellation would be, according to some speculations, the possibility of companies “devaluating” their contentsthus reducing the amount of taxes to be paid annually. Obviously, productions that are in a certain sense “minor” or that have had a media impact below expectations, as could have happened to Willow or Y: The Last Man or, finally, Crater itself, are at the expense of it.
Crater is not a superb family sci-fi adventure, surely, but not so embarrassing as to merit cancellation. A children’s film, let’s say, that has managed to be appreciated almost globally by the mainstream audience and that perhaps deserved to remain in the Disney Plus film catalog long enough for everyone to experience it.
