During the entire development phase of Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, of which a new trailer was released recently, the Insomniac Games team was able to count on a peaceful working environment, within which the creative process has always been encouraged. In particular, several members of the group stated that they had never been forced to work outside the fixed hours and that, in general, the entire path was characterized by the absence of particularly stressful moments.
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart: the statements of the development team
Among the team members who wanted to present their experience during the making of Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart we find Grant Parker, one of the game designer involved in the project. The latter wrote in a tweet:
I can’t speak for any team member other than myself, but I’ve never felt pressured. I worked 40 hours a week the whole time. Working on a great game without suffering is possible
Similar messages were posted by other team members, such as theanimator Lindsay Thompson who wrote:
I have never been pressured for the entire duration of the production. A couple of times I stayed late to finish something, but always without pressure. It’s possible. The well-being of the team allows creativity to run wild.
