The indiscretion, currently unsubstantiated, was spread by insider Jeff Sneider, who stated that the entire cast of the film had already been chosen, but it was not officially communicated due to the ongoing strike decreed by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA.
The Movie Critic, which should star Paul Walter Hauser (but this too remains to be confirmed), it could thus represent a joyful swansong for Quentin Tarantino, which would bring together some iconic faces from his filmography on set. There are even rumors of a possible cameo by Bruce Williswho could intervene on the set despite the illness that afflicts him.

According to what was anticipated a few weeks ago, before the strike Paul Walter Hauser would have received an offer for the main role in The Movie Critic, that of film critic Jim Sheldon of the porn magazine The Popstar Pages. Tarantino described the character as “Travis Bickle if he were a film critic”: a solitary, isolated individual who happens to review films for an underground magazine. The story will be set in 1977 Los Angeles, nearly a decade after the events of Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood. Filming, which was supposed to start in the autumn but was then postponed, will begin at the end of the actors’ and screenwriters’ strike.
