Fisherman’s Friends arrives at the cinema: release date revealed with the latest trailer
Brilliant, but at the same time profound and full of life lessons, Fisherman’s Friends is performed by a cast of British excellences – including James Purefoy, Daniel Mays, Meadow Nobrega and David Hayman – and is set in charming Cornwall and filmed mainly in Port Isaaca picturesque fishing village located on the north coast where the original Fisherman’s Friends traditionally gathered to sing their songs of the sea.
Fisherman’s Friends will be in Italian cinemas with Ahora! Film from November 23rd in collaboration with Fisherman’s friend, the historic extra strong balsamic candy, born in England in 1865 in the port town of Fleetwood, from the ingenuity of a young pharmacist named James Lofthouse, who created a syrup to relieve the throats of fishermen who sailed the stormy northern seas. Transformed into a tablet, over the years it became the famous “strongest” candy that we all know, imported into Italy by Divita srl.
The synopsis of the film is as follows:
Danny, a cynical and fast-paced London music executive, reluctantly travels to Cornwall for his colleague Henry’s stag party. There he is tricked by his boss Troy into trying to hire a group of fishermen who sing sea songs. Danny becomes the “fish out of water” par excellence, but tries to win the respect and enthusiasm of the unlikely boy band made up of Jim, Jago, Leadville and Rowan, sea dogs who believe in the value of friendship and community rather than fame and fortune. In an effort to overcome the fishermen’s skepticism about the music business, Danny finds himself drawn into the community, his integrity is tested, and he is ultimately shown the meaning of loyalty, love, and friendship. This forces Danny to reevaluate what really matters in his life.
