According to the latest updates, Kaitlyn Dever would be the one chosen to play one of the key characters of the next season. The actress, known for her roles in Unbelievable (2019) and Dopesick (2021), is in fact in negotiations with HBO for the role of Abby. To break the news Jeff Schneiderclaiming that the director and executive producer Craig Mazin and the creator of the video game Neil Druckmann, they would have chosen this actress for this role, which is extremely important for the second season. Denver’s wasn’t the only name linked to the character. In fact, before her there were rumors of Florence Pugh, i.e. the interpreter of Yelena Belova, in Black Widow. Kaitlyn Dever herself had auditioned to join the cast of The Last of Us, taking on the role of Ellie, a part then given to Bella Ramsey.
For those who don’t know, Abby Anderson she is a member of the WLF, determined and ready to do anything to track her down Joel, guilty of killing his father; this decision will lead her to clash harshly with Ellie. In the video game, this character has managed to acquire more and more importance, so much so that it has almost become a second protagonist.

In fact, we can announce that, with the conclusion of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike, the series will begin filming on January 7, 2024, in Vancouver, Canada. The release is instead scheduled forearly 2025. Not exactly a short period of waiting. We really hope it will be worth it, maintaining the level of the first season.
