Inside the package we will find, in addition to our case, a microphone to connect to it in case you want to do karaoke or simply attract the attention of the audience, two supports for microphones, user documentation and two power cablesone with European standard and the other with British standard. To protect the case we will find two cardboard slots that will keep it firmly inside the box. The packaging however is not plastic free and, indeed, the latter will be used to contain all the objects present inside.
Moving on to the design, we cannot fail to mention the enormous dimensions of this speaker. The product certainly does not go unnoticed and, consequently, will be characterized by a considerable weight. To overcome transport problems that may arise, Sharp thought about installing a couple of wheels underneath and to obtain a comfortable one handle which facilitates movement.
The top it is then characterized by various commands arranged around the ring that regulates the volume, useful for change songactivate the microphones, change the equalizationactivate the setting super bassswitchare fra i vari light effects or simply turn the speaker on and off. A small child also finds accommodation here display that will bring us all back main instructions and above all these keys we find the place to place the tablet or smartphone so we don’t have to carry it with us all the time.
The front is characterized by the presence of two 8″ fullrange speakers each surrounded by a light section in which all the effects will be reproduced. These are protected by a metal front grille with a matte black finish and just above we find a luce flash to recreate the effect of strobe lights of a nightclub. On the retro we find them slots for microphone holders and in the middle a space where they will find space inputs for the same microphones not USB port. Going down we first find a hole that will allow the sound wave to escape so that it is not compressed too much by the case and then the socket to connect the power supply.
Unrivaled power | PS-949 Sharp XParty Street Beat review
Let’s now move on to one of the most important sections of this review, namely the one dedicated to playback quality. Have two 8″ fullrange speakers with a power of 132 W it already outlines what its use will be. Although it is also perfect to place in the living room, thanks to its black color which makes it quite elegant to look at, it is in the open air that this speaker demonstrates its full potential.
The sound power that the speaker releases makes it ideal for them parties on the beach or in the countryside with some friends. In fact, if we push it to the maximum levels, it could annoy the more intolerant neighbors. Of note, however, as well as a at high levels the sound tends to maintain a “cleanness” as we have rarely noticed in these devices.
There is no excessive distortion and, indeed, the sound remains full-bodied and well defined, both on the highs and on the lows. The latter then enjoy a further boost thanks to the “super bass” function which amplifies them further. In this way we will hear decisive and powerful bass, just like the ones that make us dance in the disco.
It will be possible play music from any music platform thanks to the Bluetooth connection which will allow us to easily pair our mobile phone. The possibility of also being very important connect our devices through the apposite prese USB. Through the latter it will then be possible also recharge our mobile phone or tablet.
Remote controls and duo mode | PS-949 Sharp XParty Street Beat review
A function that we found really useful and interesting is the integration of the cash register with l’app Sharp Life. This, in addition to being the command center of any of the company’s smart devices (from electrical outlets to televisions, including large appliances and lighting systems), it will allow us to use our smartphone as a real remote control. From here it will also be possible to activate duo mode, in case we have two of these devices. In this way it will be possible to use each speaker as a single channel (left or right) to give an even more immersive sound during our parties.
On ours screen they will be all the main controls of the cash register are present, those placed on the upper side so to speak. From here we will be able to manage not only the volume oh vari audio effectsbut we can also change the lightingturn off the strobe light or change the equalization. We will therefore be able to manage every aspect comfortably seated, without having to approach the cashier for any need.
However, once the speaker is turned off, we will no longer be able to reactivate it remotely. This is a bit of a flaw, because we would have liked to activate and deactivate the speaker directly from our mobile phone while we are doing some household chores. It would therefore be more appropriate to implement a stand-by function that allows us to put the speaker to rest, at least remotely, so that we can then use it again when we feel like it most.
Conclusions
We have now reached the end of this review regarding the speaker PS-949 XParty Street Beat di Sharp and so the time has come to take stock. The speaker has important dimensions that give it an unparalleled sense of robustness. Such important dimensions also entail a high weight and for this very reason the company has provided a comfortable handle and two wheels to the device to be able to transport it easily.
Battery life of 12 hours makes it excellent for use at any party without having to carry the power cord with you. The sound power with which it is equipped makes it excellent especially for outdoor parties and IPX4 certification it will allow us to live the experience in complete safety. L’XParty Street Beat is in fact immune to splashes, which makes it great in any circumstance, even in some poolside parties.
Very important is the integration with the Japanese company’s app which facilitates its use even remotely; we will be able to control every aspect without having to abandon our friends. However, once once the speaker is turned off, it will be impossible to reactivate it remotely. Despite this small flaw, the audio quality is unquestionable. We enjoyed a great experience even setting our cash register to the highest levels.
