The holders of the IP really want to catch them all: the two leakers of Pokémon Sword and Shield are facing a very high bill
We knew that in 2019 the two leaker of Pokémon Sword and Shield they would have received a vehement complaint from the IP holders. What we did not expect was that the retaliation had become so high. The one that The Pokémon Company, founded with the joint investment of Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures, Inc., defines an “irreparable wound” is now quantifiable with a six-digit number. Whatever the advantage of the two defendants was, he would do better to cover the forensic expenses: the authors of the leak are about to find themselves one hundred and fifty thousand dollars less on the account.

For the record, the two leakers were involved in the development of the strategy guide of Pokémon Sword and Shield. By breaking the non-disclosure agreement with the publisher of the guide, the first of the two is accused of having photographed the pages while the other must answer for having exposed “the global public” to the information through Discord. We hardly have to repeat why The Pokémon Company cared so much about the secrecy of the content in question. In short, Galar remains the only region seen so far not to support the entire wildlife sector that has made the series so well known and loved. According to the same guys as Game FreakPart of the reason behind this cut (233 creatures in total, above) was a greater focus on the graphics engine and animations. In both cases, however, this focus was seen by fans as insufficient to justify the cutting of content. Even counting the additional costs for the transfer of Pokémon from past games, the discontent of fans led to the hashtag #GameFreakLied among the Twitter trends, marginally undermining the marketing of the two games.
