The trailer for the Mean Girls musical is online, arriving in US cinemas on January 12 and a remake of the 2004 cult
Paramount Pictures has released the final trailer for Mean Girls, remake of the irreverent cult comedy of 2004 in the form of a musical. Alongside the images we have seen in recent months, there are also some tasty ones new sequences. Furthermore, the trailer reveals the presence in the cast of a much-loved star of the big and small screen.
In this new version of the biting teen movie starring Lindsay Lohan, the naive student Cady Heron (Angourie Rice), a newcomer to the North Shore, makes friends with the most popular girls in school. At the head of the so-called The Plastics, there is the evil Regina George (Renee Rapp), adored by the inseparable Gretchen (Bebe Wood) and Karen (avantika). When Cady develops a crush on Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), Regina’s ex-boyfriend, she will be the subject of a cruel retaliation from her supposed friend. The new version of Mean Girls, based on the 2018 Broadway musical, is directed by Arturo Perez Jr and Samantha Jayne. Tina Fey she signs the screenplay and also returns to take on the role of Miss Norbury, just like in the 2004 film. The actress and Tim Meadows (Principal Duvall) are the only members of the original cast present in the remake.

It’s also in the cast John Hamm:, which returns to the big screen after the successful Top Gun: Maverick. The actor plays Coach Carr, busy teaching students peculiar life lessons. The trailer offers a taste of the film, which promises wild energy, over-the-top laughter and, of course, lots of music. Furthermore, there are references to the most famous and cited scenes from Mark Waters’ cult. For example, the performance of Jingle Bell Rock or the test of confidence in the gym.
Will the new ‘Plastics’ be able to withstand the heavy comparison with the legendary trio composed of Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried e Lacey Chabert? We can’t wait to find out. The film will debut in the United States on January 12, 2024. For the moment, however, there is still no official date for distribution in Italy.
