Netfilx just released a piece of news regarding Squid Game 2. It looks like the series will return to the platform this year
The popular dystopian drama Squid Game, will return this year with the highly anticipated second season. It seems that Netflix has just allowed us to have a little more certain news regarding the long-awaited series. Since the year has just begun it’s not exactly a tight release slot yetbut it is already something more than the news we had before. Netflix released this information in its annual releases report listing expected releases for 2024in fact series were mentioned such as: the third season of Bridgerton, the second season of Empress, the second season of The Diplomat and, finally, also the aforementioned second season of Squid Game.

We’ve known for some time that Squid Game would have a second season, and during last summer’s Tudum we already got a sneak peek at the cast. There will be confirmations like Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun and Gong Yoo who will all return. But new characters will also join the cast of the series. They will have the faces of Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon and Yang Dong-geun. On the other hand, Squid Game is a series that has had great success on the platform so it is not at all surprising that Netflix has decided to continue its production. Not surprisingly, in fact Squid Game has been billed as one of the most exciting series to hit Netflix in a while. In addition to providing news on releases scheduled for 2024, Netflix’s announcement brought news of subscriber growth. There are now 13 million new users, despite the platform’s focus on password sharing and new ad-supported levels.
