Wolf Pack canceled from the Paramount+ platform after just one season, the cast of the series informed of the decision in recent days
Paramount+ made the decision to cancel Wolf Pack after just one season. The series represented Sarah Michelle Gellar’s great return to the television universe, but this return did not last long, it seems. The cancellation seems to be like a bolt from the blue. In fact it seems that the Wolf Pack team was quite optimistic and seemed pretty sure they were getting a renewal. The cast and crew were ready to start production in February. However, it appears that the cast members are being informed right now of the series’ cancellation. For the moment there are no indications of a possible move of the series to other platforms.
Wolf Pack cancelled, as well as Sarah Michelle Gellar’s return to the small screen
Sarah Michelle Gellar, who we all remember from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, hasn’t had a major role in a live-action television series since 2014. In Wolf Pack, in addition to playing one of the most important characters in the series, she was also an executive producer along with Jeff Davis, Joseph P. Genier, Karen Gorodetzky, Christian Taylor, Mike Elliot, Jason Ensler and Sean Crouch. Within the Wolf Pack, Gellar was Kristin Ramsey, a fire investigator. In fact, she herself had to investigate a mysterious forest fire that seemed to be the cause of the awakening of a ferocious werewolf. The series is a creation of Jeff Devis and is inspired by the book of the same name by Edo van Belkom. The other faces of the cast are: Armani Jackson, Bella Shepard, Chloe Rose Robertson, Tyler Lawrence Gray, Rodrigo Santoro, Aisling McBee and Julian Wanderer. Wolf Pack aired in January last year, concluding its 8 episodes in March. At the time, the cast and creative team expressed optimism about a second season. Furthermore, it was also anticipated that Gellar’s character would have an in-depth analysis. During its broadcast, Wolf Pack had reached a sufficient number of viewersthe cancellation of the series was most likely a necessary cost-cutting measure Paramount+ needed to implement, with mass layoffs expected in the near future.
