The new 2024 FIA WEC season is about to begin, here is the program with the times of all the activities planned for this season and where to follow the event
The new season of the FIA WEC is about to begin and there will be contenders in the race very competitive. Now that we know where to see the 2024 WEC Championship, we are ready with the program with all the times of all the new features that we will see during this new season. There will be plenty of them in this championship 37 cars entered in the championship promoted by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest and many are very famous names that will make fans prick up their ears. In the hypercar class, the protagonist is obviously the Toyotareigning champion.
The FIA WEC 2024 contenders that we will see on the programme
Toyota, however, will have to contend with formidable opponents, such as Ferrari who is willing to do anything to win and who this year presents herself with the new one 499P. But not only that, we will also see the Peugeot which will try to be competitive with the 9×8, but will arrive in the Middle East with the Balance of Performance. There are also Porsches and Cadillacs, but we see the real innovations with Alpine, BMW, Isotta Fraschini e Lamborghini, who will be opponents not to be underestimated for Toyota. Then comes a new class, the LMGT3, in which we also find some notable builders. But the name that everyone is waiting for the most is that of Valentino Rossimaking his debut with the BMW M4 #46 of Team WRT.
FIA WEC 2024 programme
After the initial test tests we begin competing on the race weekend with the two sessions Free tests on Thursday, the following day, Friday, there will then be the third session. These Free Practices present some interesting innovations: in the first, the 10 best Hypercar and LMGT3 classes will be promoted. The 1812km will start on Saturday and last 10 hours in total. For us Italians, the times will be as follows:
- Thursday 29 February: Free Practice 1: 10.20am-11.50am and Free Practice 2: 3.30pm-5.00pm
- Friday 1 March: Free Practice 3: 9.00-10.00. LMGT3 Qualifying: 2.00pm-2.12pm. Hypercar Qualifying: 14.20-14.32. Hyperpole LMGT3: 2.40pm-2.50pm. Hyperpole Hypercar: 14.58-15.08
- Saturday 2 March: We are: 9.00-19.00.
