And the 1944 and a war that for so long seemed so far away is now getting closer and closer to home. While the Allies make their way into the backbone of Italy, Giulia he must fight his demons after the death of his twin sister Martha, just like his father, a general of the Wehrmacht, which is now at the forefront.
Global Video Games Publishing Label, Wired Productions e il principale studio italiano, LKA, have presented a new trailer of the next first person psychological thriller Martha Is Dead, focused on the impact of Second World War on the Tuscan setting of the game. Above you can see the trailer.
Wired Productions and LKA also revealed that Giulia’s father Erich will be voiced by the celebrated German actor Udo Kier, a leading figure in German and international films for over 50 years. More recently, Kier played the lead role in the critically acclaimed and award-winning film Swan Song. His role in Martha Is Dead – which grew out of a shared vision and faith in the project – sees him voicing Erich in three languages: italiano, English e German.
“The setting has always been an incredibly important part of Martha Is Dead,” says Luca Dalco, Founder & Director of LKA. “Italy in 1944 was a country paralyzed by panic and paranoia. With the Germans occupying the north while the Allies liberated the south, loyalty was strained as the nation literally split in two. “
He also added: “Udo Kier was perfect for the role of the German general and father of the twins. For the team it is a real stroke of luck to have found him ”.
The first demo ever of Martha Is Dead will be launched as part of the Steam Next Fest, to be held from Friday 1st October to Thursday 7th October included. This demo will include several excerpts from the game, plus an exclusive final scene and additional elements that will not be present in the final version. These excerpts will be used to give players a little taste of what will happen in the title.
Costruito in Unreal Engine 4, Martha Is Dead combina places in the real world, working on connections to historical events, superstition, folklore e profound psychological distress. The title will launch on PC, PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5 and the Xbox family of devices. Players can add the title to their Steam Wishlist.
