Acer Enduro Urban T1 is the Taiwanese company’s proposal for the rugged tablet market. In this review we will understand if it can only be a good device that can withstand extreme situations or even much more
Enduro Urban T1 is the proposal of Acer for the world of rugged tablets, characterized by an above average resistance, certified to be flawless in most destructive contexts. The peculiarity of this tablet lies precisely in the aesthetic optimization that Acer has been able to bring to a product that maintains all the characteristics of robustness and resistance to stress which should belong to a rugged device, but maintaining a decidedly more aesthetic casual and by the greater attraction factor than most of its rivals on the market.
Unfortunately, it is still a economical device and precisely this variable makes it recommended for one category of users but at the same time not recommended for many others. Let’s find out more in the course of the review.

When rugged doesn’t mean ugly | Acer Enduro Urban T1 Review
MIL-STD810H military certification e IP53 against dust and water: these are the first things you will need to remember when talking about this tablet. At first glance you will almost forget it as it could easily be assimilated, from an aesthetic point of view, to a normal tablet. But Enduro Urban T1 resists shocks, falls and atmospheric agents thanks simply to his back cover in plastica, to a series of bumper placed at the corners and hermetic closures which intervene on: headphone jack, microSD and charging (YET) Micro-USB only.
Overall, the only 630g of weight of this tablet make it a choice that does not preclude the purchase to any user and indeed, the rugged nature opens the doors to many work scenarios, as well as obviously to the hectic life of a child. Rugged but perfectly portable, handy and light.
A hardware that resizes the offer | Acer Enduro Urban T1 Review
If on the one hand the display of this product, one unit from 10.1 ″ with Full HD resolution, balanced colors and protection Gorilla Glass exceeds expectations in relation to the price range, what makes you ask questions and doubts about a possible purchase is the entire hardware equipment. Unfortunately Acer has entrusted this Enduro Urban T1 with a Mediatek MT8167A processor and only 2 GB of DDR3 RAM memory. A low-end hardware sector that in 2021 no longer allows you to enjoy even acceptable performance in different contexts. Urban T1 in fact follows, from this point of view, the tradition of rugged devices, offering this feature combined with hardware that is not up to par.
You will not have particular problems to use the tablet with fluidity and responsiveness in the applications for the management and modification of documents or for a navigation on the browser basic with a few open pages. Unfortunately, the situation drastically degenerates already in the use of applications for viewing multimedia content such as video su YouTube or movies and TV series on Disney+. During our tests there was no lack of slowdowns in the reproduction of multimedia content, children of a hardware sector of yesteryear which unfortunately remains in line with the rugged offer of the market.
Forget the possibility of video game, if not outdated games with very few claims in terms of brute power. We would certainly have preferred that Acer would enhance this tablet more, perhaps tweaking the price upwards but really giving a product that breaks the market, which otherwise remains a bit in the middle.
Autonomy, software and connectivity | Acer Enduro Urban T1 Review
Acer’s tablet, thanks to a 6000 mAh battery, can even reach two days of basic use, especially thanks to a draining limited battery in stand-by. The duration of the recharging phase is epochal, which can also approach three hours, due to the connection Micro-USB. The software chosen to move the hardware available is Android 10 GO, the leaner and lighter version of Android, used wisely so as not to exaggerate the potential of the processor and memories.
Good audio reproduced by the two system speakers, with a fairly high volume and balanced frequencies, in relation to the proposed price. The room 2 Megapixel front is that 5 Megapixel rear they are sufficient for the most classic uses of family video calls but you will hardly want to use them for important business calls. Some problems with the Wi-Fi in connection stability. Locking the device and unlocking it was not uncommon to lose the connection with the modem and not be able to find it automatically, except by entering the settings and forcing it manually.
It’s time to take stock
In order to fully evaluate theAcer Enduro Urban T1 it is obligatory to start from what his soul is rugged. From this point of view it probably represents one of the most interesting solutions, certainly not the most resistant on the market, but a practically flawless combination of design and robustness. Unfortunately, however, the ultra low-end hardware equipment excludes from the list of possible buyers all those who are looking for performance for particularly demanding work applications or for multimedia entertainment.
