This will be his first film made in collaboration with the Warner Bros and the Legendary Entertainment. The writing team previously worked together to make Birdman with Michael Keaton, about ten years ago. In recent weeks, the director has met some actors, including his own Tom Cruise, who would be the first choice to play the protagonist of the film. The American actor would also have shown interest in participating in the project. This is Inarritu’s next film, after The Revenant, to be made in collaboration with a studio, which has grossed 500 million dollars al box office. The last time Cruise collaborated with Warner Bros was instead with Edge of Tomorrowalthough before that he had also participated in other works such as Magnolia, Rock of Ages, Interview with the Vampire and Eyes Wide Shut.
