How the new Ranked 2023 will work

Ranked Timeline

Starting this year, there will be a reset between the two ranked Splits (with corresponding rewards) in an effort to bring League into line with today’s player expectations and ease the stress of avoiding loss of points or relegation to the Midsection of the year.

  • Ranked Reset: With the start of Split 2 of the ranked season, the reset won’t be as drastic as it was in January, as the game won’t be changed so significantly that players need to sweat hard to achieve the level they once had previously. Also, the mid-year reset will be even less impactful for those who haven’t played many games since January
  • Rewards: Players can now earn all ranked rewards in each Split, including ranked icons and emotes, borders, and ranked skins. This means that there will be two skins for ranked this year, as well as additional rewards for those who try their hand at climbing
  • In addition to all of this, players will no longer need to reach Gold tier to earn ranked skins, instead they will be awarded based on a number of ranked matches played, which varies by tier
  • Chromas will continue to be awarded based on the final level you reached in each Split
