Alpine and IED unveil the A4810 Project concept car

From the collaboration between Alpine and the Turin branch of IED (European Institute of Design), a design school based in Milan, was born A4810 Project by IED. It’s about a concept car which enhances the characterizing elements of the brand by respecting and following the spirit of the brand made of lightness, sportiness and driving pleasure.

Alpine and IED presented the new A4810 Project by IED concept car

The concept car A4810 Project by IED was born in September 2021. Twenty-eight students of the IED Masteri in Transportation Design worked on the project. The project does not envisage the mere realization “on paper” of a futurist concept car. The students were also asked to create a 1 to 1 scale physical model. The aim of the project that started last September was to present the concept at the Geneva Motor Show. However, the event was canceled but the project went ahead and the team presented the concept during a press conference organized in the Institute itself.

Raphaël Linari, Alpine’s Chief Designer, he clarified the starting point of the project by highlighting the indications given to the students: “I gave them the keys to understand the Brand, its design and its heritage, but I established very few constraints. They had to be able to give free rein to their creativity, without feeling limited “.

The only item that had been provided in advance was that of size. Linari underlines: “The dimensions were those of a supercar. For the students they constituted a kind of box in which the driver, the seats, the engine had to be placed and above all to imagine the proportions of the vehicle ”.

For what concern final results, on the other hand, Linari adds: “The final design of the A4810 Project by IED mainly associates two themes that had been proposed by the students. Those who were eliminated gradually moved on to work on different elements of the final concept car such as wheels, seats, colors and materials, etc. “
