Android 13 has just arrived but it’s already time to look at Android 14 and all the news that will come with the next version of Google’s mobile operating system. In these hours the confirmation has arrived that among the next Android news there will also be the support for satellite connectivitya feature set to become increasingly important in the future.
Android 14 will also support satellite connectivity
Confirmation comes from Hiroshi Lockheimer, Senior Vice President of Platforms & Ecosystems di Google, which, on Twitter, confirmed the future arrival of satellite connectivity for the Google operating system. With Android 14 it will therefore be possible take advantage of direct satellite connectivity on smartphones, thanks to special partnerships that Google will carry out in the future.
Wild to think about user experiences for phones that can connect to satellites. When we launched G1 in ’08 it was a stretch to get 3G + Wifi working. Now we’re designing for satellites. Cool! Excited to support our partners in enabling all of this in the next version of Android!

Recall that Android 14 should arrive over the summer of next year in its first stable evolution. Tests on the next update are already underway. According to the first rumors, in fact, the public beta of the new version of Android should start in April with the Developer Preview which could debut in advance, perhaps as early as February.
More details on satellite connectivity support will come in the coming weeks. The development of Android continues and, of course, the first detailed information on all the news that will characterize the next version of the operating system will begin to arrive in the autumn.
