The exhibition Andy Warhol: the advertising of the form also sees one among its protagonists BMW M1. The model, in fact, was painted by Andy Warhol in 1979. It is a BMW M1 Group 4 that participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979. The initiative is part of the calendar of celebrations for the fiftieth anniversary of the BMW M brand which distinguishes the sports models of the Bavarian house. Here are the details:

The Andy Warhol: Form Advertising exhibition opened its doors to the public this week. It is an exhibition curated by Achille Bonito Oliva with the collaboration of Edoardo Falcioni who tells Andy Warhol in a completely new way through over 300 works. The exhibition can be visited at the Steam Factory in Milan until next March 26, 2023.
Among the works on display there is also a 1979 BMW M1 painted by Andy Warhol. The car is the fourth example in the BMW Art Car collection and was painted by the artist in less than half an hour. Regarding his work, Warhol remarked: “I tried to give a vivid representation of speed. If a car is really fast, all outlines and colors will become blurry ”.
