The name of who will direct the English remake of Another Round has finally been revealed. The new version will be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio
Just a few years ago, the Danish film Another round was awarded at the Oscars as Best International Film. Now, according to Deadline, the film by Thomas Vinterberg will pass into the hands of Chris Rock, who will soon direct an English remake. The rights to the film were in fact purchased almost three years ago, very shortly after the victory of the very prestigious award, by Appian Way by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jannifer Davisson, from Endeavor Content it’s yes Makeready. Inspired by a theory that alcohol promotes creativity, four high school teachers embark on an experiment. They constantly consume alcohol to see how it affects their teaching. And the results are not lacking.
The original cast of Another Day includes Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Bo Larsen, Magnus Millang, Lars Ranthe, Maria Bonnevie e Helene Reingaard Neumann. In addition to winning in the Best International Film category, the film was nominated for the Best Director Award.
Who will be the new protagonist?
According to the first rumors, Rock will entrust the very first drafts of the screenplay to a collaborator. Vinterberg’s original film also had as its protagonist Madds Mikkelsen; the actor who will take over the role is still unknown. The same goes for the rest of the cast.
