Apple is producing more and more iPhone 13 in India, signaling a continuing drive to diversify its product supply chain outside of China. India has become the manufacturing location for many of the products Apple. Last year, the company began manufacturing the iPhone 12 in the country and may have plans to start manufacturing iPads locally.
Apple increases production of iPhone 13 in India
Apple took advantage of several government schemes aimed at increasing local product production, reducing costs and offering employment opportunities. The company, as reported by some specialized newspapers, started production in India with theiPhone SE in 2017, and has since stepped up its efforts in the region to diversify its sources of supply.
In 2020, Apple launched its online store in India, offering customers a direct way to purchase products directly from the company without having to go through a retailer. Apple had promised that its first retail store will open in India by the end of 2021however, for the moment there is no official news in this regard.
Part of this diversification strategy put in place by the bitten apple would be part of a plan to make itself as independent as possible from Chinaa large producer of raw materials for the construction of smartphones but from which Apple is increasingly trying to emancipate itself due to the totalitarian regime that characterizes the country.
