Apple dice addio alle auto elettriche per concentrarsi sull’intelligenza artificiale thumbnail

Apple says goodbye to electric cars to focus on artificial intelligence

Maybe not everyone knows, but Apple had a secret project, called Project Titan, for the creation of an electric car. A vehicle that, however, will never see the light, given that Apple has decided to abandon the project to focus on new technologies based on Artificial Intelligence.

Apple: no more electric cars, efforts on Artificial Intelligence

The news was reported by Bloomberg, which revealed that Apple had been working on Titan for more than ten years. In all this time, however, information on what Titan could offer has always been vague and contradictory. It was never understood, for example, whether the Apple vehicle would be self-driving or not. Questions that today become irrelevant, given the definitive cancellation of the project.

And the employees? Bloomberg also reports that employees who worked at Titan would not be fired. Instead, they would be moved to Apple’s artificial intelligence division, where they will work on new generative models.

The fact that a technology company preferred to redeploy its talent in a new sector rather than fire it is not a given. After all, the beginning of 2024 was marked by many layoffs among the tech giants.

In the meantime, remaining in the Apple universe, new wearable devices could arrive soon. There are rumors of smart rings and smart glasses with the bitten big apple logo.
