ASUS announces the availability in Italy of VivoWatch 5 AERO, the world’s first smart wearable that offers one-touch measurement of blood pressure (using pulse transit time or PTT) and blood oxygen. VivoWatch 5 AERO is equipped with photoplethysmographic (PPG) sensors ed electrocardiographic (ECG) integrated devices that continuously monitor the wearer’s main vital parameters throughout the day and synchronize with the app ASUS HealthConnect to provide a complete overview of your state of well-being.
ASUS VivoWatch 5 AERO: integrated ECG and PPG sensors
ASUS VivoWatch 5 AERO is the world’s first smart wearable with microelectric sensors (per ECG) ed opticians (for PPG) integrated for detecting PTT and blood oxygen level. The wearer simply needs to select the relevant function on the smartband and place a finger on the sensor for accurate, real-time measurement of the parameters. ASUS VivoWatch 5 AERO: Pulse transit time (PTT) and pulse oximetry (SpO2) measurements
ASUS VivoWatch 5 AERO offers several health or well-being monitoring modes, including one graphic display of blood pressure or pulse transit time from the wrist, which can be used to evaluate the condition of the heart and cardiovascular system. VivoWatch 5 AERO uses the time difference between the signals collected by its ECG and PPG sensors to calculate the speed of flow in arterial blood vessels and the pressure conditions generated by the vessel walls during the heart’s regular contraction and relaxation.
The PTT measurements are taken in real time simply by placing an index finger on the watch face for approx 20–25 seconds. Sensors on the back of the VivoWatch 5 AERO case automatically measure your PTT and blood oxygen level (SpO2) every hour, heart rate every 10 minutes. In “Sleep” mode, VivoWatch 5 AERO tracks your heart rate every minute.

ASUS VivoWatch 5 AERO was designed for resist dust and water up to 5 ATM, equivalent to a maximum depth of 50 metres. It also features multiple training modes to accurately monitor various activities such as jogging, treadmill running, swimming, yoga and many more. The Built-in GPSIC antennas and a motion sensor help accurately track one’s routes during jogging or hiking sessions, even when the wearer doesn’t have a smartphone with them.
The comfortable ones notification functionality include alerts for incoming calls and messages, inactivity alerts, timer, medication reminders, and so on. VivoWatch 5 AERO comes with an interchangeable strap with a 16mm pitch and long-lasting battery that lasts up to seven/eight days of autonomy in energy saving mode, rechargeable via magnetic attachment.
ASUS HealthConnect application
The ASUS HealthConnect app analyzes the data collected by the ASUS VivoWatch 5 AERO and returns detailed information to the wearer about their health status. Users can also use the app to share collected data with friends, family, or maybe even healthcare professionals. Furthermore, ASUS HealthAI within ASUS HealthConnect allows the wearer of the VivoWatch 5 AERO to receive personalized suggestions about healthy habits and activities.
Through ASUS HealthConnect It is also possible to control the photo shooting of your smartphone’s camera, using VivoWatch 5 AERO as a Bluetooth remote control for the camera.
