A few weeks after the release of the first season of the Avatar – The Legend of Aang series, Netflix has already confirmed the renewal for seasons 2 and 3
Fans of Avatar – The Legend of Aang (originally The Last Airbender) can finally enjoy a live action adaptation that is having a deserved success. The original is one animated series produced by Nickelodeon and distributed between 2005 and 2010 (we dedicated this special to the differences between anime and live action). In 2010, a film was made, The Last Airbender, which however did not gain acclaim and above all the favor of fans of the animated series. It was so criticized that it managed to get the most Razzie Award nominations that year, winning five, including Worst film.
However, earlier this year it was distributed on behalf of Netflix a new live action adaptation of Avatar, this time conceived as a television series, in order to redeem itself and give the right weight to a story that began about nineteen years ago and which has enormous potential. The first season, recently released, can count on a very young cast: Gordon Cormier for the title role, Aang, Saint Vincent per per Katara, Ian Ousley who plays Sokka, Dallas Liu for Zuko and many others. The reception of this new live action is certainly greater than the previous one.

And the story for Avatar: The Legend of Aang isn’t over yet. A few hours ago, in fact, Netflix officially announced on the account of its social network Instagram the renewal for a next season and also for a third. In the post, together with a captivating image, we find written “Aang’s journey continues… only on Netflix”, and then the production company adds in the description: “Avatar Returns: THE LEGEND OF AANG Seasons 2 and 3”. We are therefore preparing for new adventures in this series.
