Purpose of the game, components and setup | Back to the Future
Strategy and collaboration
Back to the Future: Dice Through Time è un Light strategy game in which you have to collaborate with your playmates in order to win, all together. The game can also be played in 4 difficulty levels. The aim of the game is to bring the objects back to the exact places and timeline before arriving at the Game Over.
The components of the game and its setup
We have a game board divided into four sections, each of a different color. These represent the years in which the Back to the Future trilogy is set: 1885, 1955, 1985, 2015. Furthermore, in each of the different eras there is a pawn depicting Beef Tannen. Based on the year that you have chosen, each player will have a DeLorean At your service, 4 dadi e a card. To the side of each timeline go to place a deck of Item cards with a number of cards that varies according to the difficulty level with which you have decided to play. In common for all are available: the Event cards, which are taken on the basis of the number of players, i Einstein tokens e i Paradox tokens. To start playing, you need to place the DeLorean in the “Clock Tower” box, Biff’s pawns in the “Biff Start” box and the OUTATIME marker on its “Start”.
How to play | Back to the Future
Have you done the setup? Well, now you are ready to get into the game! Begin by giving the youngest player the “First Player” marker, he must then draw the Event cards e roll the dice simultaneously with the other players. The game proceeds clockwise, the players’ task is to solve the events that are written on the cards. In addition, you must eliminate the Paradox tokens and be careful to avoid Biff and the other DeLoreans in order not to risk having penalties that will bring you closer to Game Over. Only after you have solved an event will you be able to take one Object card, in this circumstance your goal is to bring the object back to the right place. Whenever an object is returned to the correct place and time, the player must move the OUTATIME marker back one space and thus obtain an Einstein token, which will be made available to everyone to resolve the events. Victory occurs when the players return all the objects to the correct place and time before the OUTATIME marker reaches the Game Over space.
