New year, new life for Banjo-Kazooie: a new game in the beloved but unfortunate series would be in development, at least according to a rumor
We could hardly open 2024 more in good spirits than we report this with rumorbut apparently so development received the OK from the top management of Microsoft for a new game in the series of Banjo-Kazooie. Among the jade giant’s dormant IPs, this is undoubtedly one of which the return is most eagerly awaited. Beyond the awareness of the Rare development team, however, nothing has ever actually suggested a real gestation for a new chapter. Things, however, seem to be about to change, at least according to leaker NateTheHate on ResetEra. There is still a lot of work to be done, according to the post, but if nothing else Microsoft’s green light should date back to early 2022.

Banjo-Kazooie and the possible development of a new game: the rumor that really makes noise
It is not the first time that there has been talk of the development of a new Banjo-Kazooie game, although the rumor does not reveal at all who is working on it. Microsoft has previously stated that, in the case of a new title, the original creators should think about it. However, we know very well that Rare is busy with Sea of Thieves (which “honoured” the duo with a DLC whose trailer openly mocked fans) and Everwild. Fortunately for the Redmond giant, there is no shortage of viable development teams, such as Double Fine Productions and (above all) Toys for Bob, recently very popular on the speculative scene. The last appearance of the bear and the bird dates back to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as Doug Bowser reminded us.
