A new Barbie teaser trailer has just been released which reveals another key plot detail. The next movie of Greta Gerwig is set in Barbie Land, where many variations of Barbie and Ken live, but the protagonist is the one played by Margot Robbie. The iconic doll is facing an identity crisis and, to find a solution, she will be forced to delve into the real world. In the new teaser trailer, a further detail has been added relating to this context which would further help to understand the plot.

Although it lasts just 20 seconds, the new Barbie teaser trailer preserves a precious detail for the purposes of the plot, as it reveals what the doll and her faithful companion Ken they will have to search once they arrive at their destination. Leaving Barbie Land behind with a clear goal, the two will arrive in the real world. Barbie is hinted to reach the real world and find “who played with her”. In parallel, the short teaser trailer video shows Gloria’s daughter, a woman who works at Mattel and is played by America Ferrera.
Everything suggests that Gloria’s daughter plays a key role in Barbie’s storyline. But how could she help the doll find herself? The short video explains that being human can also mean feeling uncomfortable sometimes and having to face difficulties. And it’s a lesson that Barbie and Ken will learn the hard way.
