Battlefield 2042: You will need Xbox Live but not PS Plus to play the beta

The Battlefield 2042 site reports that Xbox Live will be required to play the open beta, while the PS Plus subscription will not be needed

DICE recently confirmed that the open beta per Battlefield 2042 will take place from 6 to 9 October with pre-loads starting from 5 October, players who have pre-ordered the game will receive early access and can participate in the new map Orbital on Conquest, however, it seems that to play the trial version you will need a subscription to Xbox Live but not that a Playstation plus. Let’s see all the details about it in the next lines of this article.

Battlefield 2042: for some reason there will be no need to have signed up for a PS Plus subscription for the open beta, this does not apply to Xbox Live

While the open beta will be available for all platforms Xbox players need Xbox Live Gold to access it, as expressly reported in the FAQ section of the official website of Battlefield 2042 (nothing PS More quindi). Subscription to the well-known Microsoft service is a must for all multiplayer titles on the console (except free-to-play ones) and unsurprisingly it has been reiterated again, but PlayStation players, for some reason, will not have the same restriction. PlayStation Plus is not required to log in and enjoy the open beta of the highly anticipated title from DICE and EA on PS4 and PS5. Sure, you’ll still need it for the full game, but that definitely lowers the access deterrents for those who just want to try the beta on PlayStation.
