Some time ago an investigation began according to which Ben Sulayem had compromised a race in favor of the favorite Fernando Alonso, going against FIA regulations. President Ben Sulayem has now been cleared of the charges
The more days pass, the more new ones emerge, worthy of a real one crime/mystery TV series set in the world of Formula 1. Just a few days ago, among the various scandals that have taken place, the most serious being the case of Christian Horner and the female employee of the team with whom he exchanged unpleasant messages, there was also the investigation into president Ben Sulayem. The investigation began due to a probable match-fixing, in which the president had unfairly canceled a penalty for the Spanish driver Fernando Alonso in the Las Vegas GP. It was suspected that the president had created favoritism, thus breaking the Federation's regulations. This had led him to run the risk of having to abandon his role in the world of Formula 1 and move away from it. The investigations continued and eventually reached the conclusion.
The charges against Ben Sulayem have been dropped
The work on the investigations, which among other things went on for a long time 30 daysbetween witnesses and interrogations, the FIA eventually came to the conclusion that there is no evidence to confirm Ben Sulayem's guilt. Indeed, on the contrary, after this intense work they even found evidence demonstrating that the president's actions were more than lawful. When this news of the investigation leaked, people immediately began to go against the president, thanks above all to the lack of trust towards the great personalities of F1 fueled by the Horner case. In the end, however, things worked out for the president, who now can go back to work safely. At the same time, however, the FIA now still has to work on Horner, as the Federation has now received it directly a complaint by the dismissed employee.
