Benelli Leoncino 125 unveiled at EICMA 2021

Made in the image and likeness of Leoncino 250 e 500 and of the recently presented 800, Benelli has chosen EICMA 2021 to launch the new one Leoncino 125. The latter is a “scale” model of its older sisters and offers the neophyte entering the world of street bikes the opportunity to get closer to the most feline family of the Italian brand

The Leoncino 125 debuts with a new one motor 125cc single-cylinder four-stroke cold to liquid. Its cylinder head features a single camshaft with 4 valves per cylinder, electronic injection with 28mm diameter throttle body, oil multi-plate clutch and 6-speed gearbox.

The new mechanics offers a power of 12.8 HP at 9,500 rpm and 10 Nm at 8,500 rpm. of couple, with a declared consumption of just 2.2 liters per 100 km.

Given the small size, the small eighth of a liter has a custom made frame, in this case a tubular steel that nevertheless shares the style common to the Leoncino range.

As for the suspension, the Benelli Leoncino 125 uses a inverted fork at the front, with stems 35 mm in diameter, while the rear relies on a single shock absorber swingarm with 53 mm travel.

As for the braking system, at the front there is a disco single floating 280 mm diameter with three-piston caliper, while a 220 mm diameter disc with two-piston floating caliper. In this case Benelli has chosen to add a CBS combined brake system.

The wheels follow the familiar path e the light alloy wheels are used to mount clean cut asphalt tires respectively in sizes 110 / 80-17 e 130 / 70-17 .

The design follows all the distinctive signs of the Leoncino family step by step. We therefore find the one-piece saddle on the trimmed tail, the tank with the brand logo, the LED headlight with a “particular” but distinctive shape of the series, presents the logo in the center. The dashboard is digital while it does not escape the more attentive eye than the fender / license plate bracket assembly is attached to the swingarm. The icing on the cake, as always, is on the front fender, where the lion, symbol of the Pesaro brand, shines with pride.

The Benelli Leoncino 125 will be available from spring 2022 in gray and green colors. At the moment, the sale price has not yet been announced.
