  • M3M – Among Walls
  • Sunflow Entertainment – Imp Of the Sun
  • TLM-Studios – Dead Man’s Diary
  • Sengi Games – The Serpent Rogue
  • Rabbit&Bear Studios – Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising
  • 1. M3M – Among Walls

We begin our selection of April indie video games with a title that will surely win your heart and that will fascinate the audience of players who love the Tomb Raider saga. If just recently it was announced a new title dedicated to Lara Croft, it’s time to wait too Among Walls, the work in progress of M3M and which recovers much of the imaginary already widely explored in the world of the most famous archaeologist in the videogame world. It does not have a release date yet, but let’s find out together how much we know right now about this title that could arrive as early as this year.

Kiara Bell is an intrepid young explorer who is not afraid to embark on perilous journeys around the world to find and discover ancient secrets and artifacts in mysterious tombs. Kiara is therefore faced with a new adventure that leads her on her first trip to the mysterious mountains of Andes mountain range. Here he can harness her abilities to run, jump, climb and swim to solve puzzles, reach platforms and explore the environment around her.

The journey to successfully explore the mysterious tombs and the various places will be made more difficult by wild animals, ancient traps and obstacles of various kinds. From what we can understand from these first game details, the main elements of the adventure in question are based on levels focused on achieving different objectives, with characteristic places and tombs to explore, riddles and puzzles which add a good dose of ingenuity and several places where we can enhance our character.

A title therefore, both in the concept and in its graphic realization, which is not out of place reminiscent of the classic video games of the nineties, of which we can’t wait to learn more and to be able to get our hands on an upcoming demo or version. beta.

    2. Sunflow Entertainment- Imp Of the Sun

One of the funniest and most deserving games we could try, the one made by Sunflow Entertainment and published by Fireshin Games. It is about Imp Of the Sun, a horizontal scrolling adventure platformer with a vibrant artistic sector and a full-handed recovery of Peruvian folklore, a world already introduced in video games thanks to other titles such as Tunche. A test on Steam that left us really pleasant sensations and that we share with us.

Released recently, the title in question tells us about of thean elf created by the last spark of the Sun, which has the task of defeating the Four guardians and reclaim the power of the Sun. He must end the Eternal Eclipse before the world plunges into darkness, an imminent danger humanity is facing. The gameplay therefore offers us an exciting and action-packed adventure, also thanks to the ability to use the power of the solar flame and the ability to perfect our skills.

Nin’s performances are also aided by a well-performing game enginewhich allows for smooth movements and live combat based on combo attacks. Finally, there is also the enhancement of our protagonist, between new and increasingly important and full-bodied skills to become more powerful at the time of the Empire of the Sun to defeat the Four Guardians.

Not even a few gems are missing for lovers of completismrepresented here by the artifacts called Quipus, able to gradually tell the story that lies behind the Eternal Eclipse, as well as having to find hidden objects inspired by true relics of Andean cultures. Imp Of the Sun therefore totally immerses us in a game that deserves to be tried and that shows a well-studied cultural background. These aspects allow us to immerse ourselves in a credible and at times plausible context thanks to its references to a world that has existed and is ready to return to our screens.

    3. TLM-Studios – Dead Man’s Diary

Compared to the gaming experience we had with Imp Of The Sun, Dead Man‘s Diary it left us feeling a little different and with less conviction about what we saw. A first-person action released at the end of March and developed by TML-Studios, former author of simulators such as Fernbus simulator or The Bus. A team that now returns with a post-apocalyptic world very interesting, but from the gameplay that puts us in front of not a few management skills.

We are alone in a world full of dangers, 15 years after the apocalypse that swept the whole of humanity or almost all of humanity off the face of the earth. Survivors must stay in bunkers around the world. Resources to keep the population they are not enough and several people have been abandoned in the outside world. A situation told by our hero, who was also expelled and left at the mercy of fate, without resources.

So we can feed and drink only if we can find food supplies and only if scanned by a device that allows us to ensure the absence of harmful substances. Also survival during the night it is only possible if you have a safe place to sleep. Right in the night this adventure begins, while we wander lost in a forest where some scattered signal shows us the way. Getting lost is easy and if we take too long to find the first “camp” we risk that the batteries of our torch will abandon us. Exploring this destroyed world is not easy at all and if we remain in the dark it goes without saying that the threats shrouded in darkness are ready to attack us.

Finally, the graphic sector created in Unreal Engine is really well taken care of, as well as the game menu is full of options. On the contrary, the gameplay is difficult and by no means immediate in its advancement. We have to wander around a lot and if our flashlight goes out, everything becomes more tiring. Even the puzzles to be solved present a rather high difficulty, perhaps even in an unjustified way, we would dare to say. Instead, the story in the form of a diary was appreciated, as the title suggests, flanked by monologues by the protagonist. Even the crafting mode have not gone unnoticed, with the possibility of making and updating our tools to a workbench.

Overall, we have noticed difficulties with the sourcing of resources, which is unequally organized. As we said, a general result that is not too satisfying. The title deserves a try because of the well-kept graphic sector and the menu worthy of a management survival like this.

    4. Sengi Games – The serpent rogue

Despite the difficult period in Ukraine, the Sengi Games team with Team17 is completing the work on The Serpent Rogue. It is a action adventure which we have selected among the best indies of the month of April. So let’s go and tell you about our test of the beta version in our selection of the best indie video games of April.

A version, the one we tested, not without bugs unfortunately, but reported by the team at this stage. We explored a medieval fantasy world, and we got to approach the world of alchemy. There was also no shortage of wild creatures to tame, although everything is still made with graphics that are not entirely cared for in its details. So let’s take on the role of Warden, a mysterious alchemist who must use his abilities to protect the kingdom from the invasion of Corruption and the Serpent Rogue.

Our task is to face this threat and restore the natural order of things, in a world that we have been able to explore extensively in various corners of the map. The action is based above all on secret passages to go through and new information to discover in order to oppose the threatening catastrophe. Quite varied and rich gameplay, with interesting cause-and-effect sequences. Finally, the enemies are quite menacing, a threat brought by the bloodthirsty Reapers who feed on living creatures and corpses.

Overall, The Serpent Rogue is a title that we can’t wait to discover in its final version. Here we can too transform us into anything thanks to the alchemy that permeates the gameplay of the game. An interesting and curious title in the options offered and which deserve to perform at their best at the launch of the game, scheduled for April 26.
