Among the innovations presented, we find the new 12G-SDI switcher for live production with broadcast panel and support for video standards up to 2160p60. Blackmagic Design has announced ATEM Television Studio 4K8, the new live production switcher. This combines the outstanding broadcast capabilities of the ATEM Television Studio HD model with support for Ultra HD formats up to 2160p60. This new 4K8 model features 8 standards-converted 12G-SDI inputs, 10 12G-SDI auxiliary outputs for connecting external recorders, and a four-port 10G Ethernet switch. It also supports live streaming and talkback, offers optional internal memory, and includes a joystick for precision DVE control. ATEM Television Studio 4K8 will be available in July from Blackmagic Design resellers worldwide for US$4,595.

Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera

Camera 8.1 update with support for vertical aspect ratios on all Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Cameras. This brings support for vertical aspect ratios on Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Cameras, allowing users to create cinema-quality vertical videos for platforms like TikTok. This update adds automatic rotation of the camera’s on-screen HUD and automatically tags files as portrait so they display correctly when imported for editing, making it easier to shoot and edit content shot in portrait orientation. Blackmagic Design’s URSA Mini Pro 12K Digital Cinema Camera Recently Added to Netflix Approved Camera List. Officially titled “Cameras and Image Capture: Requirements and Best Practices,” the list highlights the capture requirements needed to qualify as a streamer-approved camera. Netflix requires 90% of a program’s final total running time to be captured by approved cameras. The list already includes the Blackmagic Design URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 among the approved systems. The URSA Mini Pro 12K OLPF is available now.
