Given that the first chapter, originally released in 2019 (if you missed it, you can find our review at this link) had been appreciated by the public and critics, the guys from The Game Kitchen have decided to dedicate themselves to a sequel to their bloody metroidvania. We had already been aware of Blasphemous 2 since last summer, or ever since, on the occasion of the announcement of the DLC entitled Wounds Of Eventide, the developers had declared that they were working on a sequel, and in the last few hours the official announcement has come that it, like its predecessor, will also land on Nintendo Switch.

Well yes, during the recent Indie World Showcase, which aired just yesterday, it was announced that Blasphemous 2 will arrive on Nintendo Switch, to the delight of all the fans who were hoping for the arrival of the sequel also on the hybrid of the Kyoto giant . For the occasion, the developers showed a dark trailer, which you can view below.
Apparently, as can be seen from the video above, this sequel will take up many elements of the original chapter, including the characteristic pixel art graphic style. However, the developers have stated that their latest effort will introduce many new elements from an artistic, narrative and design point of view. The game is expected to be released this summer, so we just have to wait for the next few months to find out what awaits us from this new adventure.
