Blue Beetle is out today, August 17 in cinemas in Italy and DC has already announced the project of a trilogy: let’s find out more about this unpublished DC super hero
Blue Beetle is the new DC film that will be released from August 18 in the United States with much anticipation and expectations. In Italian cinemas, however, it comes out from today 17 August, one day early. Blue Beetle is a DC character new to the world of cinema, but still known to fans of the original comics. The film, which has not yet been released in theaters, already has good news with it: DC has already announced plans for a trilogy.

Here the interview with director Angel Manuel Soto, referring to the work with the screenwriter and the desire to continue after this first film.
When Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer and I were working on the script, we always looked at this as the first act. You are introduced to the world, you meet the protagonist, there is a triggering incident and then he leaves for the new world. We wanted to do that part and then – for the next film – to see him take what he has learned, to see him put that into practice, to fail, to triumph, and ultimately grow.
The actual project isn’t there yet, but the director has a very clear script level of the growth path that the protagonist Jaime will have to do over the next two chapters. It will also be interesting to understand if this character can fit into the other DC films, thus having new spaces.
In the meantime, we are waiting these days to be able to see it at the cinema in Italy and also await the reactions of the public to this new film. Here’s the official storyline:
Recent college graduate Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future but soon discovers that it’s not quite how he left it. While searching the world for his purpose, fate causes Jaime to unexpectedly find himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Beetle. Jamie is suddenly chosen by the Scarab as its symbiotic host and gifted with incredible armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers. His fate will change forever and Jamie will transform into the Super Hero Blue Beetle.
