While announcing the impossibility of organizing the Bicycle Competition, for reasons related to health regulations, the organizers trust in everyone’s understanding for the unusual ways of carrying out this edition and await the faithful audience of the Competition on the site https: // www .concorsodeleganzavilladeste.com / Saturday 2 October 2021 from 2 pm to 4 pm for the live stream of the legendary parade of competing vehicles.
Renowned artist Jeff Koons will provide first insights into his project with BMW as part of a THE 8 X JEFF KOONS Closed Room presentation on his work on the limited edition M850i xDrive Gran Coupé. As the embodiment of precision, refinement and craftsmanship, the result of this collaboration fits perfectly into the atmosphere of the Renaissance residence on Lake Como. Together with Adrian van Hooydonk, head of BMW Group Design, Jeff Koons will talk about the link between art and mobility, inspiration and creativity and the cooperation between them.
This year Helmut Käs, head of BMW Group Classic, will take over as chairman of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in place of Ulrich Knieps, who profoundly shaped the prestigious event from 2014 to 2020 and will be present again this year.

On site, for this edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza, by 50 exclusively selected historic vehicles will be presented in eight classes, whose meaningful titles summarize the most evocative and exciting interpretations in the history of the automobile:
Class A – The Style of the Twentieth Century: from the Torpedo Touring to the Corsaiola Roadster
Class B – Development of the Theme: Space, Rhythm and Grace
Class C – Showroom Showdown: The battle between Great Britain and Germany for Supremacy in Luxury
Class D – Italian Granturismo: Looking for the Recipe for the Perfect GT
Class E – Big Band from the 1940s to the magnificent 1980s: Five Decades of Endurance Racing
Class F – A Passion for Perfection: 90 Years of Pininfarina
Class G – The birth of Supercars: extreme Italian cars
Class H – The New Generation: Hypercar of the 90s
And with the participating Concept cars and Prototypes, five visionary unique pieces will compete in a unique event in the world.
At the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the BMW Group will also present a pioneering concept for sustainable urban mobility this year: the BMW i Vision Circular. The visionary vehicle is consistently designed according to the principles of the circular economy and aims to achieve a 100% or 100% recyclable rate of recycled materials. The BMW Group intends to be the most successful and most sustainable premium manufacturer for individual mobility. This is why the company takes responsibility and places these issues at the center of its orientation. The BMW i Vision Circular also demonstrates that there need not necessarily be a contradiction between premium standards and sustainability.
Debuts and exhibitions
Great resonance should also arouse the world debut of the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail in the Garden of Mosaics at Villa d’Este, the first culminating moment of a four-year project that involves the construction of bodies together with three special Rolls-Royce clients, for each of the which a car with a very high level of customization has been designed. With its long yacht-style tail, the British luxury brand’s 5.80m wide convertible is the perfect companion for venturing out to explore Como’s idyllic lakeside promenade.
Also this year, to characterize the program of the Concorso d’Eleganza on site will be the exhibition of the participating cars, the aesthetics of their shapes and the crowning of the most elegant and technically excellent winners of the Beauty Contest by the Jury. The winners of the Villa d’Este Gold Cup will be announced on Saturday, while to know the winners of the various vehicle classes, the Concorso d’Eleganza Design Award and the Best of Show award for the overall winner of all classes, it will be necessary to wait for the Sunday.
