On the occasion of the Motor Bike Expo of Verona the presentation of two new interpretations of BMW R 18 customized in Italy. The projects were carried out in collaboration with BMW Motorrad Italia and its dealer network. The first project, R 18 M was developed by LowRide and made by American Dream. The second project, called R18 Aurora, was created by Garage 221 with the support of BMW Motorrad Roma.
BMW R 18 M: the project signed by LowRide
The project BMW R 18 M it incorporates the letter M that distinguishes the sporty versions of BMW four-wheeled models. The project developed by LowRide aims to give a more streamlined and sporty look to the Cruiser of the Bavarian house without forgetting the reference to the rear lines of the R 18. Regarding the project, Giuseppe Roncen, director of LowRide, underlines: “In the design of the R 18 M there are suggestions of the BMW Motorrad tradition and ideas from four wheels: M is synonymous with motorsport!
R18 Aurora: a work by Garage 221
The project started a long time ago, already at EICMA 2019 on the occasion of the presentation of the bike. According to Pier Francesco Garage Brand 221, the lines of the R 18 deserved the presence of “complementary elements and an even more Heritage spirit, starting from the soft lines of the tank to the characteristic shapes of the boxer”. The changes made to the R18 include elements inherited from other BMW Motorrad models. The color chosen for the bodywork is also a reference to the parent company and in particular to the RT 100 from 1983.
