Our review of the Braun Silk-expert Pro 5
Design
The materials of construction they are really excellent and from the first opening we have the feeling of having a high quality device. But honestly, we didn’t expect anything less from Braun.
Braun Silk-expert Pro 5 is an epilator compact with an ergonomic shape that makes it easy to handle. On the body of the product are present two buttons, the smaller one for ignition and mode selection and the larger one for treatment. The epilator is not battery operated so it must always be used for use connected to the current. However, the cable has a length that makes it comfortable to use and move.
Included in the package of the PL5157 version, we also find two heads easily interchangeable. The first measure 3 cm² and it is standard while the second, that of precisionmeasures approx 1,5 cm² and is designed for the most delicate areas such as the face, armpits and bikini line.
In the box we also find the razor Venus Swirl Extra Smooth which allows a correct elimination of hair before treatment, improving its effect. A small gadget that demonstrates attention to the customer.
Finally, we have one soft case gray / beige, divided into compartments, to take the epilator on the road with us or to store it safely after use.
Technology and Safety

It features an innovative technology called SensoAdapt thanks to which the intelligent sensors continuously detect the tone of the skin and hair before each pulse, automatically adapting theintensity of pulsed light for an extremely treat safe on all skin tonespreventing a flash that is too aggressive on delicate skin or the activation of the flash on dark skin that could burn.
For added security there is a filtro UV and a sensor that does not activate the flash if the epilator is not perfectly adherent to the skin, preventing the light from hitting the eyes. This implies from time to time having to slow down the epilation to find the right angle of the device, especially in the most “angular” areas such as on the leg bone.

Our test of Braun Silk-expert Pro 5
We tried Braun Silk-expert Pro 5 for 8 weeks, doing the treatment once a week. Not only is it comfortable to use, painless, completely safe, but it is above all effective, even on very light – almost British – skin – usually very delicate and difficult to treat.
After 6 weeks, we noticed a strong thinning and the hairs began to grow weaker and thinner. Now, after 8 weeks, they continue to grow in some areas but at a much slower and more spaced rate. At the end of this first phase of treatment, which will last a few more weeks, until the hairs have practically disappeared, we will begin the maintenance phase with one treatment per month.
Let’s be honest: we have always been very skeptical of the promises of permanent, quick and painless hair removal. Especially after trying everything from the classic razor to Brazilian waxing but nothing ever has all three qualities.
But with this pulsed light epilator I had to completely change my mind!
