After the success of the series with the chapters of the series for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch, Square Enix has made public the announcement trailer for Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights, which will be released for smartphones
The last publication of the Bravely Default series dates back only a few months ago, when Bravely Default 2 came out for Nintendo Switch during last February. Since then, the popular JRPG franchise hasn’t seen any new projects coming out, or at least until today. In fact, Square Enix published the announcement trailer for a few hours ago Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights, which will be released for iOS and Android. Let’s see below to analyze the trailer in question, so as to have a better idea of what awaits us.
Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights, all the details of the announcement trailer
The title will have the same combat system that has characterized the series so far, with the Brave and Default mechanics (clearly optimized for smartphone screens). In general, while the aesthetics largely resemble Bravely Default 2, Brilliant Lights will be one original story in which we will see different worlds intersect with each other. Indeed, in addition to the new characters that will be central to the story, fans of the series will be able to meet old and familiar acquaintances.
The title will be free-to-play, with in-app purchases to get various exclusive items. Square Enix confirmed, via a press release, that the series has reached beyond 3 million copies sold (between physical and digital) since its first release for Nintendo 3DS back in 2012. As for the launch date, we still don’t know much: we just have to wait for more information.
