Cher: on her birthday she announces the biopic dedicated to her

Universal has a biopic in the works that my friends Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman will produce. They both produced the “Mamma Mia!” and my dear friend, Academy Award winner, Eric Roth, will write the script.

As we read in Cher’s message, the film, still untitled and which will be distributed by Universal Pictures, will involve producers Judy Craymer e Gary Goetzman, already behind Mamma Mia! with the music of ABBA; the pop star herself will be involved in the making of the feature film as a producer along with Craymer and Goetzman. The screenplay of the biopic will instead be entrusted to Eric Roth, which in 1995 won the Academy Award for Forrest Gump and with whom the singer collaborated on the 1987 film Suspect – Presumed guilty, starring her.

In her nearly sixty-year career, Cher has distinguished herself in the world of music, film, television and theater, earning prestigious awards, including an Emmy, a Grammy and an Oscar for the film Bewitched by the Moon. The iconic Cher had already announced the release of a biopic dedicated to her in 2018 when, again through her social media accounts, she had made it known: I’m writing the story of my life, the book will be released in the first half of 2020. A biopic will follow.
