Cinelido – Italian Film Festival, from 14 July at the Tourist Port of Rome

Back with a second edition Cinelido – Italian Film Festival, again hosted by the Tourist Port of Rome, 4 intense days dedicated to short films

Starting from today, 14 July, until Sunday 17 July, Cinelido – Italian Film Festival is backthe event dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of short films and emerging Italian talents.

The Cinelido outdoor arena is back and being the Tourist Port of Romeone of the largest confiscated assets in Europe.

Organization and purpose of the festival

Cinelido is organized by Zen Movie, one of the most important European realities in the world of short films. Also it was founded by the director Giulio Mastromauro, David di Donatello award. The artistic direction of the festival are Andrea Cicini and Alberto De Angelis.

The festival fits into the socio-cultural redevelopment project of the X Municipality of Romesupported by the Municipal Administration and by all the Institutions, especially extended to the territory adjacent to the Marina.

The ultimate goal of the festival is that of create a link between the different cultures bordering the Mediterranean and give the public the opportunity to get closer to short films, thanks to its rich calendar that is totally free.

Giulio Mastromauro expresses himself in the first person by explaining that Cinelido is a film festival that comes from the territory and is closely tied to the place that hosts itthe Tourist Port of Rome.

In a historical moment in which platform contents dominate, there was the decision to go against the tide by reconfirming the choice of an auteur cinema program.

The works in competition

The works in competition are 34, divided between different sections and are selected by a committee directed and coordinated by Iranian directors and screenwriters Ali Asgari and Farnoosh Samadi (members of the Academy), who as part of the event will also present the short film Pilgrims, directed by them. The shorts will compete for the prizes of each section and for the awards assigned by Rai Cinema and FICE-Italian Federation of Essai Cinema.

The festival will have its godmothers in some rising stars of Italian cinema: the actresses AngelaCurri, Eleonora De Laurentis, Chiara Vinci and Gaja Masciale will support the director and actor in the presentation of the four evenings Niccolò Gentili, which will lead to the Cinelido stage also in this second edition. The President of the Jury of the 2022 edition will be the director Phaim Bhuiyan.
