In this article we will see the review of the Corsair Xeneon Flex, a 45-inch gaming monitor in UltraWide format that flexes

We learned about Corsair in many reviews and we were surprised in the review dedicated to their first monitor, the XENEON 32QHD165 of which you can find. Here is the article in case you missed it.

After about a year and a half here we are again talking about a Corsair monitor and I assure you that even if different, the amazement is comparable. In fact, even if there is a precedent, the Californian company has decided to amaze again with an unexpected choice.

If you are curious, make yourself comfortable because we have a lot to tell you about this review dedicated to the Corsair Xeneon Flex.

Aesthetics and Construction | Corsair Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240 review

I think Corsair tops the list when it comes to style. Despite maintaining a sober design with not too bright colors, the Californian company has managed to give its monitor a unique and, in my point of view, extremely fascinating aspect.

The pedestal is necessarily a bit bulky, also due to the size and characteristics of the monitor. The design of the CORSAIR XENEON FLEX is decidedly essential, but extremely cared for in every part, offers a deriva gaming but also an innate elegance.

At the center of the main structure we find the stand which houses part of the display electronics, the on and off button and some of connections which we will see in more detail later.

Obviously we cannot fail to mention the curvature system, which is obviously placed in the rear part of the monitor.

The support mechanism consists of two articulated arms that guide the panel through the various angles of inclination, signaling with a clear sound the beginning and the end of the movement, thus indicating to the user when to stop. So don’t be afraid of being able to force the folding system.

Furthermore, it should be specified that the handles to carry out the closing and opening movements remain semi-hidden and must be extracted to facilitate the operation.

The chosen design is truly amazing, the possibility of exploiting the pedestal to contain most of the electronics is brilliant even if in doing so the obligation to keep the monitor bound to it is essential. In this way it is not possible to take advantage of a VESA attack and hook our Xeneon Flex apart.

Accessories and OSD | Corsair Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240 review

Before discussing the OSD and its features, it is important to clarify which connection options are available. Here too, we have nothing to complain about, as there are numerous comprehensive options. In particular, we find the following connections available:

Front:

  • 2 X Porte USB 3.2
  • 3.5mm audio output
  • Input select button
  • I/O button
  • Joystick button for the menu

Rear:

  • 2 X HDMI 2.1
  • 1 X Displayport 1.4
  • 2 X USB TYPE-C
  • 2 X USB 3.2

Inside the package we find, in addition to the panel, also a Display Port cable, an HDMI cable, a Type C cable and a power cable. All accompanied by the classic instruction manuals.

Let’s find out the OSD of this gaming monitor

The OSD is intuitively controlled via a joystick and a key dedicated exclusively to power on and off. Thanks to this lever, we can comfortably navigate through all the available configurations of our monitor.

A big, pleasant surprise was the possibility of including Italian in the OSD. Thus setting the type of image, colors, activating and deactivating FreeSync, setting the low latency mode or even switching from a personal, gaming or cinema profile will be even easier and more intuitive.

Who should buy this monitor?

In conclusion, we are in front of a monitor Fantastic which manages to give an immersiveness never seen before, even if its strength is perhaps also its great weakness.

The possibility of having a monitor either curved That standard it is very convenient, one could enjoy the best of both sides in productivity and during gaming sessions. However, the inability to hang the monitor joined to a generously sized pedestal it might not make most people happy.

Then there is also the resolution which directs us towards a very performing PC (we didn’t use a 4080 for testing). Last and not by chance, the prezzo which, while justified, is quite high.

In a nutshell, we are in front of a fantastic monitor capable of giving satisfaction and guaranteeing emotions, but which unfortunately is destined for one very small elite segment of the market.

From our point of view, in all honesty, we had fun testing this fantastic panel and we invite you to do it too, if you have the opportunity (perhaps at some dedicated fair).

Plus points

  • Great resolution and refresh rate
  • Fantastic Oled panel
  • It flexes
  • All connections are in the pedestal….

Points against

  • even if this is not possible to exploit Vesa attacks
  • The UltraWide solution is not suitable for many titles
  • Price a prohibitive
