Creative MUVO Go review: superlative sound

Packaging and Design | Creative MUVO Go Review

Creative’s Bluetooth speaker will arrive in a very rigid package on which we will be able to find many details starting from the design of the same in the frontal part. Along the sides, however, we will find a lot of information ranging from the technical specifications to the properties of the same, even passing through the contents of the package. The entire packaging is completely eco-friendlyexcept for a small plastic bag that covers the speaker to avoid accidental scratches with the cardboard.

Once the package has been opened, which appears to be tightly closed to avoid accidental openings, we will be able to extract a small box from it which will contain a guide for quick setup and the USB-C to USB-A charging cable about 1.2 meters. Now we will just have to extract the special cardboard compartment, made to avoid accidental bumps, and we will find ourselves in front of the speaker in all its structural solidity. This is in fact built with della solid plastic for the external structure and the back side, while the top, front and bottom sides are equipped with a fabric cover to cover drivers and donate a elegant and sporty look at the same time.

On the upper side, if you decide to place the speaker horizontally, we will find three multimedia keys with dual function which will be used to play or stop the music, increase and decrease the volume, but also skip to the next track or go back to the previous one. On the back we then find the power button, the one to pair the device via Bluetooth, the USB-C charging socket and two small LEDs, one near the latter and the other between the ignition and the Bluetooth button. These respectively signal the position of office and the speaker operation.

On the other side, but always in the back, we find a recess, designed specifically for the lanyard. That way it will be easier to carry the device. In the underlying part there are only two feet to rest the case, while on the two sides we find the passive radiators with the company logo imprinted on them.

Operation | Creative MUVO Go Review

Turning on and pairing our device with a smartphone, tablet or PC will not be complicated at all. However, during the ignition phase we could suffer a real jumpscare due to theloud start-up sound and pre-recorded connection status speech. Apart from this small downside, our experience was entirely positive with this speaker.

We used it to listen to music, watch movies and various TV series and in any case he performed more than admirably. Although the conformation has not been made with audiophiles in mind, the two full-range speakers are the confirmation, the acoustic quality was really excellent. We were able to enjoy well-defined bass and crystal clear treble, although in some cases the former overlapped the latter due to their power, especially at high volumes. Of course the louder we cranked up the volume, the louder the distortion, though still has remained quite contained compared to its direct opponents in that price range.

This was possible thanks to the adoption of the two passive membranes which avoid the crushing of sounds. In fact, this particular effect creates important distortions and even a slight reverberation that affect the general experience. With these little precautions the sound, instead of being compressed in a solid structure, pushes the membranes, “enlarging the space available to it and giving us a good sound.

The battery life was very good and, even if the 18 hours of declared operation were not respected, we still came very close. Obviously we know very well that that parameter is relative and depends on various factors. A bit’ the recharge seemed slow to us, although the entrance turns out to be a USB type-C. We were sorry instead that the speaker is not compatible with the app for Android and iOS of the Singapore company, thus making it impossible for us to set any type of equalization or control other parameters such as the battery life itself or the ignition volume.

Conclusions

We have now reached the end of this review concerning Creative’s MUVO Go speaker and the time has therefore come to sum up a bit. The speaker looks elegant and sporty at the same time, making it great both for a training session, but also for livening up a party with friends. Despite the startup volume being too high without the possibility of being able to turn it down, our experience was very satisfactoryboth in terms of sound and battery life.

Starting from the first, the structure with the two passive membranes allows for a cleaner sound, free of important distortions, even if not entirely, due to the power of the drivers. Only at really high volumes did we hear the sound change from what it should originally be. As for the battery, however, nothing to complain. Although the duration was not as declared, we understand very well that this factor can be influenced by various aspects.

However, we were able to take home a whopping 16 hours of playback before needing to recharge the speaker. This very passage, on the other hand, seemed rather long to us. Approximately four and a half hours of chargingon a device with a USB-C output, they seemed somewhat excessive to us. Despite this however, for a recommended price of €79.99, we can recommend this speaker to anyone who wants a good speaker that can reproduce music and sounds in general in a very faithful way. That’s all for this review on Creative’s MUVO Go speaker. In order not to miss future news relating to the electronic and technological universe, continue to follow the pages of everything!
