Director James Gunn spoke about the animated series Creature Commandos, revealing some details regarding the launch of the long-awaited new DC Universe in 2024
The Serie Creature Commandos it will be the first chapter of the new one DC Universe in 2024. There animated series Creature Commandos centers on “a group of military superhumans composed of a human leader, a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein’s monster and a gorgon.” The historical period in which the events take place is that of the Second World War, with connections with other DC Comics comic book adventures, including for example Superman: Legacy.

Yes, Creature Commandos is set to release in 2024. There have never been any delays, thankfully. Any information to the contrary is an error. Animation isn’t part of the SAG contract, but it doesn’t matter anyway since everyone’s recordings were ready a long time ago, and the animation went full steam ahead.
Creature Commandos is based on the great DC team. What we’re doing with the new DC universe starting in 2024 is tying animation directly into live action. Television, movies and video games are all intertwined in the same universe. We will choose actors who will be able to play the characters both ways, and we have already chosen some. I wrote all seven episodes of the show, and it’s in production. So it’s the first thing out of the new DC Universe in 2024, and I love it.
