Dacia announces that 10 million cars have been produced since its birth. The historic milestone was reached on April 20, when the Renault group brand produced a Dacia Duster Extreme LE finished in Urban Gray. This vehicle can therefore boast of being the ten millionth unit produced by the Romanian carmaker since its creation in 1968.

Dacia employed 17 years to produce its first million cars and another 13 years to reach 2 million cars produced. In 2014, following Renault’s purchase of the brand, the company had produced five million vehicles and it took just another eight years to build that many.

Dacia 1100 the first car of the 10 million produced

he first vehicle built by the brand was the Dacia 1100whose production began in August 1968. The following year the company presented the Dacia 1300 and a family of derivatives that were enormously successful, so much so that it remained in production for 35 years. During that time, the company produced 2.3 million units of the Dacia 1300, leaving a distinctive mark on the Romanian automotive scene.

Renault bought Dacia in 1999, opening a new chapter and opening it to international markets. The Dacia Sandero and the Dacia Sandero Stepway are the best-selling vehicles to private customers in Europe since 2017. The company has built 2.6 million since they were introduced in 2008. It has also put into production 2.1 million Dacia Duster and 1.95 million Dacia Logan since its presentation.

As a result, Dacia has opened several factories outside Romania and Europe, and its models are now sold in 44 countries.
