Almost ten years have passed since the announcement, but here we are now: Dead Island 2 is officially in the Gold phase and the release date has also changed, but don’t worry… it comes out earlier!
Dead Island 2 is a game that will probably go down in history for all the wrong reasons. Such a troubled development has hardly given birth to a product, but this time it seems that we have it: after countless postponements, three changes of development studio, the title completed by Dambuster and Deep Silver is finally arriving. The last of the long list of postponements had placed it on April 28th on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One, but in the past few hours Deep Silver has released new information and… listen, listen: Dead Island 2 has been postponed. Not postponing it though, but (incredibly) anticipating its release date.
Dead Island 2 will therefore arrive on PC and console on April 21 next, well a week earlier than scheduled. Furthermore, through a Tweet on the official channels, Deep Silver also announced that the game has officially entered the Gold phase. The development is therefore completed and the company will switch to the disk copy for the physical version, while the developers will continue the polishing work and will prepare (almost certainly) a day one patch. We leave you the Tweet below.
You asked for it, you got it. Dead Island 2 went gold and it’s coming out a week early.

Dead Island 2 is in the Gold phase and comes out… sooner?
Dead Island 2 is set in Los Angeles, a few months after the events of the first chapter. The zombie outbreak has eventually reached the city, which has obviously been placed under quarantine in response. You can choose your protagonist from six different Slayers and your only mission will be to escape fighting zombies left and right. Each fighter will have unique abilities, as well as a (hopefully) wide range of customization.
In short, two good news for a title that had now become vaporware: Dead Island 2 is officially in the Gold phase and will be released seven days before the scheduled date!
