Insider Tom Henderson resurrects Dead Island 2’s summer zombie apocalypse – maybe the game could make a comeback this year
After so much wandering, the zombies of Dead Island 2 could finally return, if what is asserted by Tom Henderson if it was true. Action RPG has had a troubled development, as we recently recalled. The announcement dates back to 2014, and between postponements and changes of the guard is now in the hands of Dambuster Studios. However, beyond a trailer, we don’t have much else on our hands, but that doesn’t mean things aren’t going to change anytime soon. For the better, we hope.

According to insider Tom Henderson, in the last quarter of 2022 we could finally see Dead Island 2 again. Never before has it been said: whoever does not die sees himself. However, as often happens, talking about the last quarter is a bit like talking about the end of the year, and in this case the most likely occasion remains the ceremony of Game Awards. The last time Geoff Keighley let us understand that we would see the island of the undead again, however, the reveal was that of Goat Simulator 3. It remains to be seen if the good Geoff will build a comic curtain on us.

According to Henderson’s sources, the game will be set in multiple different locations, including Hollywood and San Francisco. The title is in “good shape” in terms of development, and will emphasize a lot of co-op. The cast includes about five unreleased characters, but not much else is known for now. The publisher Deed Silver, according to the company Embracer Group, has bet on the April 1st 2023 as a possible launch date, but for reasons you can imagine the date is not the most reliable.
