Some fans fear that the new film dedicated to the Talking Merc, now being owned by Disney, will not have the same violence as the first two films. But there is nothing to fear, because both Disney and the director know that the film it won’t be your typical Marvel Cinematic Universe product. The film’s director Shawn Levy backs these rumors, confirming that Disney is determined to make Deadpool 3 an R-rated film.
For Disney, viewing of Deadpool 3 will be prohibited to minors
Returning to talk about the Marvel film, which according to some rumors will connect to the season finale of Loki, Canadian director Shawn Levy wanted to reassure fans of the mutant regarding the making of the film and the target audience for which it will be intended. Deadpool 3 should in fact be considered R-rated following the US regulatory system. Speaking to Wired, Levy had some words to say about the film with great enthusiasm:
Not only Kevin Feige, but also Marvel Studios and Disney themselves supported this Deadpoolian, bold, R-rated style, but they also supported our super self-referential storytelling. Some jokes are dirty and scurrilous, others are cultural observations, but that’s what we love about Deadpool: he knows he’s in a movie, even if the stakes are real for him. Our film has the same DNA, made of awareness and being ready to make fun of everyone, including Marvel and Disney, who are supporting us a lot on this aspect.
Deadpool 3 might actually be the first R-rated movie, as had already been anticipated by the screenwriters of the film about the not at all family friendly character taken from the comics. The release date is currently still unknown, as the actors’ strike is still ongoing.
